About the Position:

  • Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to preparing, classifying, and abstracting medical reports in the medical records unit.

Job Type/Salary:

  • Open/Close dates: 12/9/2024-12/29/2024

  • Full-time

  • Hourly payrate: Level II- $18.50/hr, Level I- $16.58/hr

  • Primary Working Hours are: M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm

  • FLSA Status: Non Exempt

  • Primary Work Location/Department:? Oklahoma Forensic Center, Vinita Ok/Medical Records

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level II- Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of accreditation with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and two years of experience in the medical records field; or eligibility for registration with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); or have five years of experience working with patient records in the medical setting such as a hospital, state institution, medical clinic or a physicians office.

  • Level I- Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of eligibility for accreditation with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); or two years of experience working with patient records in a medical setting such as a hospital, state institution, medical clinic or a physicians office.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.

  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid drivers license.

  • Based on the duties and responsibilities assigned to the position being filled, a user agency may require accreditation with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Technician (RHIT); or eligibility for registration as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)

  • Some agencies may have determined positions in this job family to be safety sensitive as defined by 63 O.S.~ 427.8.

About us: ?

Come grow with us! The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) located in Vinita, OK is a 24 hour/365 day secure inpatient forensic facility with a forensic step-down unit and provides jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma.? Currently, OFC has 216 beds for consumers in the main facility who have been found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.? The transitions unit across the street is a secure 52 bed forensic step-down unit. OFC is expanding with construction scheduled to be completed in June 2026 adding an additional 84 beds to the main facility. When completed, OFC will have a total of 300 beds to house consumers in the main facility along with the 52 bed step-down unit.

THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.
