Monitors Providers participating in CACFP to ensure compliance with regulations.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:•Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of Lutheran Social Services of NY (LSSNY). Complies willingly with all organizational policies and procedures.•Supports all functions that attain and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies.•Exhibits effective communication skills.Position Specific Duties and Responsibilities•Maintains a caseload of ~30 FCC providers•Conducts monthly visits to provider homes to monitor health, safety and nutrition including meal service•Conducts at least 4 meal monitor visits within each provider's CACFP eligibility period.•Ensures providers maintain updated CACFP enrollments for all active participants h provider's home, current eligibility forms for all providers claiming their own resident children. •Conducts a meal monitor visit within 28 days of a new provider's participation in CACFP•Reviews menus and attendance and meal counts at each CACFP monitoring visit and completes Five Day Reconciliation•Ensures providers complete Fire Drills, Shelter in Place and other Emergency drills as required by DOHMH.•Monitors menus, meal count and attendance in Minute Menu and follows up with providers to ensure timely input of information•Ensures children's medicals are current in compliance with EPSDT schedule•Ensure all children participating in CACFP have an updated Enrollment Form•Assists in facilitating provider annual CACFP training•Follows up on accidents and incidences in provider homes to ensure procedures are followed in compliance with regulations.•Ensures adequate supervision of children in FCC home.Other Duties:•Participate in planning and hosting of special events for providers, children and families.•Promotes the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by assisting in measurable outcome activities, and by identifying opportunities for improvement.•Exhibits customer service, decision-making and problem-solving skills.•Effectively prioritizes and coordinates job tasks for maximum productivity.•Completes other tasks as assigned by Health, Nutrition & Safety Coordinator and/or Deputy DirectorSupervises: Health, Nutrition & Safety Monitoring SpecialistsQualificationsQUALIFICATIONS•Associate Degree or Child Development Credential with training on nutrition, health and safety•Knowledge of Family Child Care preferred•Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows application is required.
