Position: Health & Safety Manager - Construction Job Type: Full Time; Contract Hire (6 months) Locations: Ridgeville, SC 29472 Pay Rate: $37.00 - $47.00/HR [based on experience & paid weekly] Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Monday - Friday) Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts daily orientation, filed audits risk assessments, and morning safety meetings.
- Conducts daily inspections of sites, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential safety and health concerns and hazards.
- Conducts accident investigation and provides recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Maintains safety systems, policies, and procedures for the site.
- Ensures that all EHS reporting is completed timely and accurately.
- Compiles and submits required safety, health, and environmental reports to corporate and regulatory agencies.
- Acts as Company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety, health and environmental matters affecting the site.
- Assist with managing contractor EHS compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or other related field preferred, but not required.
Experience:
- 3 or more years of hands-on Construction EHS experience required.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).
- Ability to deliver training materials utilizing various types of media.
- CHST certification or OSHA 30-hour certified preferred.
- Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of fall protection, electrical, trenching, ironwork, and critical lifts.
- The employee will occasionally have to lift up to 50 pounds.
