Responsibilities - Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety and health inspections and audits of the operations, both indoor and outdoor, to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Respond to emergency situations and ensure report findings are completed with follow up actions planned and executed.
- Investigate and analyze accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop strategies to prevent their recurrence.
- Manage and maintain safety records, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes, and implement necessary adjustments to safety programs and protocols.
- Lead safety committee meetings and act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and external safety organizations.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies.
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective gear.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Proven experience in safety management within a large-scale manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of OSHA and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong DOT experience with heavy emphasis on trucking safety and large power industrial vehicles.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency in utilizing safety management systems and related software for data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage safety initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Experience leading investigations, working with outside consultants, and interface with regulatory agencies required.
- Working with international teams is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience leading teams is required.
Education - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field. Combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree.

Schedule Demands - General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
- Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
- International travel may be required (primarily to locations throughout Europe).
Physical Demands - Sitting, standing and/or walking for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
