What's the Job?

What's Needed?

  • Supports OSHA compliance, state, and local regulatory compliance by serving as the site expert and providing management updates on current and future laws and regulations.
  • Drives a safety minded culture by leading site occupational health and safety program supporting all safety training, including Job Safety Analysis.
  • Manages health and safety programs including Emergency Response, forklift certification, ergonomics, safety audits, crisis management and accident investigations.
  • Conduct and/or facilitate safety programs and OSHA required training and certifications, ie., forklift, confined space, lockout/tagout, and CPR/First Aid training; conduct fire drills.
  • Oversees and actively manages safety reporting system and Incident Investigation Report to ensure completeness and that appropriate action is taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and analyses work environment, including near miss incidents, with emphasis on preventative actions.

What's in it for me?

  • Minimum associate's degree in occupational health & safety or related field - this is PREFERRED
  • Minimum of 2 or more years of relatable experience in occupational health & safety (environmental or EHS knowledge is unrelated, not required)
  • Experience in food or industrial manufacturing industry not required, but a plus to understanding business needs & company expectations
  • Ability to train, coach employees on safety awareness & OSHA regulatory requirements (must possess a strong understanding of regulations & Workers' Compensation claim management)
  • Ability to create & manage programs, procedures & processes in a large facility (Distribution Center, warehouse, or manufacturing setting of any type of product) is key to understanding business needs, including:
  • Hands-on/floor presence experience (a must)
