Position OverviewThe Healthcare Underwriter is responsible for evaluating and assessing the risk of healthcare loans, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and standards. This position plays a critical role in the approval process, working closely with loan applicants and healthcare providers to facilitate funding and support the growth of healthcare services.Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate loan applications and financial documents to determine the creditworthiness of applicants.
- Analyze risk factors and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines specific to healthcare loans.
- Collaborate with loan officers and healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation and information for underwriting decisions.
- Make informed recommendations for loan approvals or adjustments based on thorough analysis.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FHA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac guidelines to ensure adherence in the underwriting process.
- Provide support and guidance to other team members on underwriting processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in healthcare loans.
- Strong knowledge of FHA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
