Required Skills:
* Comprehensive understanding of the Health Sciences Academy mission, vision, and relevant curriculum pathways for grades 9-12.
* Proficiency in school administration practices and ability to advocate enthusiastically for students and the Academy.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills for engaging with students, parents, educators, Academy partners, and community stakeholders.
* Competency in planning, organizing, and managing Academy activities and initiatives. Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office products.
* Knowledge of health careers and related educational requirements.
Preferred Education/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Health Professions or Secondary NC teaching.
* Background in the healthcare industry, Career and Technical Education pathways, or student counseling.
Terms of Employment: 12 months
General Duties/Responsibilities:
* Student Recruitment and Retention: Actively attract new students to the Academy and promote their sustained participation.
* Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular contact with students, parents, educators, and community stakeholders.
* Program Administration: Oversee the requirements and compliance of the Academy. 4. Enrichment Activities: Plan and execute activities that enhance learning experiences for Academy students.
* Articulation Agreements: Foster partnerships with local community colleges and universities to ensure seamless transitions for students.
* Teacher Recruitment: Support the district in retaining certified Health Sciences teachers.
* Collaboration: Partner with Curriculum, CTE, and Student Services Departments to heighten healthcare awareness in the community.
* Public Relations: Build and maintain credible relationships with partner organizations and stakeholders.
* Program Evaluation: Regularly assess the program with input from students, parents, teachers, and healthcare industry representatives.
* Resource Coordination: Disseminate updates and resources from local, state, and federal sources, as well as Academy partners.
* Advisory Council: Lead the Health Sciences Advisory Council in strategic discussions and planning.
* Program Innovation: Identify opportunities for growth and the sustainability of new or existing programs.
* Business Collaboration: Engage with business and industry partners to secure resources beneficial to Academy programs.
* Marketing and Promotion: Advocate for the Health Sciences Academy to students, parents, educators, and community stakeholders.
* Student Support: Provide guidance on scholarships and general resources for students and graduates of the Academy.
* Resource Management: Oversee the efficient use of Academy resources. 17. Professional Development: Maintain current professional licensure and participate in growth opportunities to stay abreast of emerging trends in healthcare education and careers.
18. Collaboration: Work closely with RRGSD CTE Director, school administrators, and career advisors to align Academy goals with district objectives.
