The Heavy Construction Equipment Part Specialist is responsible for the inventory, ordering, distributing, and stocking/restocking parts and filters for the entire maintenance team. This position contributes to the efficiency of the maintenance team through hard work and dedication. Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
- Orders parts for both shop and field technicians under the direction of the Maintenance Manager
- Orders and coordinates filter kits for the preventative maintenance staff
- Tracks cores for the maintenance department
- Stocks/restocks parts
- Maintains vendor relationship to ensure cost effectiveness
- Conducts monthly inventories of parts and filters
- Updates fleet maintenance software with new part numbers and volumes on hand
- Establishes new vendors based on project geographic location
- Conducts annual reviews of vendors to ensure effective pricing, inventory, and overall performance
- Communicates daily with technicians and lube team to maintain parts availability
- Maintains daily order forms for Maintenance Manager to review
- Distributes parts to Shop Technicians daily
- Other tasks as assigned

- Highly motivated, self-starter
- Intricate knowledge with heavy construction equipment parts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to interact effectively with others and resolve conflicts
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance software packages, a plus
- Basic project management skills
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in the construction industry required
- 3 or more years of experience in equipment/truck, construction, mining, or industrial parts departments
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain Forklift Operator credentials
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
