Casella Construction is getting ready for the upcoming 2021 season (April Start) and we are seeking Skilled Heavy Construction Laborers with experience working around utility infrastructures for our various locations throughout VT. Travel is required for these positions. You will be traveling as a team throughout VT working in remote locations to help build utility line roads and infrastructure. **Responsibilities:**
* Assist skilled workers as assigned, may include jobs such as demolition, carrying equipment or construction materials.
* Hand shoveling, raking, sweeping, lifting, assembling materials.
* Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools- compactor, jack hammer, hammer drill.
* Digging trenches; cleaning up rubble, debris, and trash; or removing materials
* Direct traffic near, in, or around work zones (flagging)
* Complete Simple grades
* Execute tasks as directed by Supervisor.
* Properly completes daily paperwork.
* Cleanup and put tools away at the end of the day.
* Work as a team and communicate effectively.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Requirements:**
* 2+ years experience as a skilled laborer preferred.
* Experience with grading, piping, earthwork and demolition.
* Ability to listen to, understand and follow directions.
* Good communication skills
* Ability to remain flexible as assignments change.
* Desire to learn, improve, and succeed.
* Ability to implement safe work practices and stay alert to changing work conditions.
* Ability and desire to work outdoors in all weather in a physically demanding position, including lifting 50+ pounds, and work on your feet all day.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Must be able to pass a drug test.
* Must have reliable transportation to jobsite.
* Valid driver's license is preferred.
