Heavy Diesel MechanicA local Erie company is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in working with heavy diesel equipment and trucks. The primary responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, as well as performing routine inspections to ensure vehicles are operating efficiently and meeting safety standards.
Responsibilities- Diagnosis and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot issues with heavy diesel engines, transmissions, and other components. Perform necessary repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles to prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities. Document parts usage and order necessary supplies.
- Adherence to Safety Standards: Strictly adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while working on diesel equipment. Promote a safe working environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all repairs and maintenance work meet high-quality standards and comply with manufacturer specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics and team members to efficiently complete tasks. Communicate effectively with supervisors and provide updates on work progress.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in diesel engine systems. Attend training sessions and workshops as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills- 4-5 years or more of proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment when required.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Benefits/Compensation- Full-time with the consideration of part-time
- Pay Rate is $16.50-$30 per hour.
- Shift will be between the hours of 7am-4pm
