**Hiring a Travel Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic**

**Job Description**

+ We are seeking a skilled Travel Diesel Mechanic to perform scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshoot systems, and operate precision measuring devices.

+ The ideal candidate will have experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and diesel engines, including the use of electronic diagnostic tools.

+ Will be responsible for interpreting service manuals, parts books, prints, and schematics, as well as generating work orders and parts requisitions using a computer.

+ **Pay: $35-$40/hr. depending on experience**

+ **Per diem included - per days worked**

+ **60-70 hour weeks**

**Responsibilities**

+ Perform scheduled preventive maintenance such as changing oil, greasing, and replacing components.

+ Troubleshoot systems and components utilizing electronic diagnostic tools.

+ Operate precision measuring devices to measure the tolerances of bearings and shafts, and to level and align rotating machinery.

+ Operate hoists and hydraulic jacks to position or remove components.

+ Read and interpret service manuals, parts books, prints, and schematics.

+ Use a computer to generate work orders and parts requisitions.

+ Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, air mechanical, and air conditioning systems.

+ Operate equipment to diagnose problems and to test operation after repair.

+ Operate light vehicles to travel throughout the mine site.

+ Perform other duties as assigned such as operating heavy equipment.

**Requirements**

+ 3+ years of experience in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and diesel engines.

+ Experience working on Tier 4 engines.

+ Experience working on and repairing 4-phase motors.

+ Experience working on hydraulics, fuel lines, brake lines, and other components.

+ Experience in heavy equipment operation (excavator, skid, etc.) and inventory management.

**Work Environment**

+ You will be working on a construction site, operating various types of heavy equipment and tools.

+ The role requires travel throughout the mine site and involves hands-on repair and maintenance tasks.

**Job Type & Location**

+ This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rossler, Texas.
