Position Details: --- Title: Heavy Equipment Maintenance --- Location: Houston, TX --- Shift: 3 Shifts (1st 6am-2pm, 2nd 2pm - 10pm, 3rd 10pm - 6am) --- Compensation: $21.13 - $35.55/hr --- Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, etc. Company Description: The company is the premier forging company for the global aerospace and energy markets. Providing a specialized service, company manufactures forged components from high grade titanium and nickel-based alloys. Such components are used for jet engines, including fan disks, compressor disks, turbine disks, and shafts. We also produce titanium and steel forgings for airframes, including wing beams, wing boxes, door and window frames, as well as landing gear components. Position Description: Responsibilities include: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and production equipment throughout the entire plant. This would include hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, engines, motors, crane and other lifting equipment, conveyor systems, duct collection systems, pumps, piping systems, structural steel/platforms, and other equipment by performing the following duties. --- Observe mechanical devices and equipment in operation to determine proper condition of equipment and if repairs are required. --- Perform structural welding as required (3G qualified). --- Use oxygen/acetylene torch for routine cutting and burning of materials and applying heat for removal of mechanical parts. --- Read blueprints to fabricate/assemble/troubleshoot mechanical equipment and/or piping systems. --- Demonstrate good knowledge and application of rigging techniques and procedures. --- Demonstrate good understanding of the proper use of mechanical tools and application of acceptable mechanical principles. --- Use dial indicators or laser alignment equipment to properly align two pieces of equipment. --- Repair or replace defective parts, lubricates equipment, and cleans equipment. --- Operate high pressure equipment (> 5,000 psi) as well as isolate this equipment to perform Maintenance work. Requirements: --- Basic mechanical skills and general knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics. --- Relevant work experience operating machine tools, including numerical control and manual lathes, and machining centers. --- Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining processes specific to various metals and alloys. --- Skills in performing quality checks, verifying dimensions, and adhering to safety protocols. --- Familiarity with coolant systems, cutting oils, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Written Skills Evaluation: Employees must pass a written skills assessment for general hydraulic and millwright knowledge. Interview: Cross functional interview with the Maintenance Leadership team. Practical Exam: Employees who pass the written assessment will be required to pass a practical exam which includes further maintenance skills as desired. Weld Exam: Employees who pass the written & practical sections of the hiring process will be required to go off-site and perform a structural plate weld test to their certified procedure and the test coupon must pass the bend test. (Not required for individuals who possess current certifications and can present supporting documentation)
