Join the P&J team today and become a valued member of our company Summary: This position specializes in operating heavy clearing equipment for extensive land clearing projects. Operators will engage in grubbing, piling, and clearing activities using specialized machinery to prepare sites for construction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate a D8 dozer with a KG blade for grubbing operations, effectively removing vegetation and stumps. Utilize a D6 dozer with a root rake to pile grubbed material efficiently. Manage an excavator equipped with a bucket and live thumb for precise handling and piling of materials. Conduct burning of piled materials in a controlled and safe manner. Perform root raking to clean and prepare the area thoroughly post-clearance. Learn and adhere to safety regulations specific to heavy equipment and burning operations. Monitor operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Coordinate machine actions with other project activities, ensuring seamless operations. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Requirements: Proficient in operating specific clearing equipment: D8 dozer with KG blade, D6 dozer with root rake, and excavators with bucket and live thumb. Prior experience in land clearing operations is mandatory. Ability to follow safety regulations and instructions meticulously. Must judge distances and slopes accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry objects weighing 50 pounds or less. Tolerant of dusty or dirty surroundings. Pass construction equipment operator qualification testing/observation. Education and Experience: High School Diploma preferred. Minimum of two to three years of verifiable and relevant experience in land clearing. Compensation: Very competitive pay, depending experience. Per diem provided.
