The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy machinery, including trackhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and excavators, to assist in roadwork, sewer, water, and storm drain projects. - Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as trackhoes, bulldozers, loaders, excavators, and other related machinery on job sites.
- Project Support: Perform tasks related to roadwork, sewer, water, and storm drain installations, grading, and other construction duties.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct pre-operation checks and routine maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and optimal operation.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA regulations, maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
- Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grading requirements to meet project specifications.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and other team members to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
- Troubleshooting: Perform routine troubleshooting of equipment and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Equipment Care: Ensure the cleanliness, proper storage, and maintenance of equipment after use.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Proven experience (3+ years) operating heavy equipment, including trackhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and excavators.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on roadwork, sewer, water, and storm drain projects.
- OSHA certification or other relevant safety certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
