PRIMARY FUNCTION: Operates a variety of heavy equipment including Cat 308 excavators, front-end loaders, skid-steers, trackhoes, backhoes, excavators, dozers, graders and trenchers. Typical Duties: Actively supports the Companys commitment to safety and its Core Values. Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Companys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Performs loading and unloading of equipment and supplies. Precision positioning of equipment, lifting heavy machinery and components, as well as beams and lumber. Will work in a cab and use pilot operated joystick controls, pedals, levers and buttons to lift, move, and position loads using hoisting attachments, such as hooks, slings, electromagnets, and buckets. Operators will observe load hookup and determine safety of load and inspect and report on crane and hoisting mechanism. Must be careful and attentive at all times so they can follow directions closely as they will communicate with team members both verbally and by signal instruction. Operate equipment to dig trenches and holes of specified length, depth, and width and grade. Be able to work around existing underground utilities and tight areas. Understand shoring, soil classes and dewatering. Use equipment to remove loosened material and put in piles or transport trucks. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards. Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision. PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work from elevated or uneven surfaces. Work involves standing and walking for extended periods of time. Ability to work in Confined Spaces. Work may include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping and occasional climbing onto equipment and/or trailers. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objects weighing a minimum of 35 pounds to a maximum of 100 pounds, with assistance, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment or tools. Requires visual ability sufficient to perform job duties. Work normally requires eye-hand coordination. Travel and overtime may be required. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (3) years of mechanical, industrial or refinery maintenance experience. General knowledge of basic hand tools. Must be able to pass equipment test and visual observation of operating equipment. Complete the Matrix Service Safety training, and/or Client/Site specific training. Must Pass a Background. Must obtain and maintain an active status within the applicable drug testing program.
