Overview of Position: Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for completing tasks with a variety of heavy equipment as assigned including but not limited to trail maintenance, snowmaking repairs, grooming and general repairs of roads/parking lots.Job Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 3+ years experience operating heavy equipment of various sizes and weights
- Must be clean, neat and organized.
- Able to follow instructions safely, thoroughly and accurately.
- Must be flexible, willing to learn and adapt to changes.
- Able to stand, lift, pull, stoop, and work on uneven terrain for long periods of time.
- Able to regularly lift up to 60 pounds.
- Can work independently and with others in a supporting manner.
Job Duties:
- Safely operate equipment and machinery on the property, including (but not limited to): groomers, forklift, skid steer, mulcher, tractors, etc.
- Maintain all mechanical equipment on a regular basis - preventive maintenance, greasing, checking oil, etc.
- Responsible for refueling machinery and maintaining facilities thereof.
- Keep work areas and vehicles neat, clean and safe at all times.
- Notify Vehicle Maintenance when taking parts out of inventory or when a mechanical issue arises.
- Complete tasks as assigned in a safe, timely and effective manner.
- In respect to winter grooming duties:
- Prepare and maintain the highest possible surface quality for skiers of all levels.
- Groom trails, including moving and compacting snow.
- Be aware of and cautious around underlying pipework and obstacles.
Work Schedule and Conditions: We are in the business of providing premier products and experiences for our members and guests. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holiday periods during which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods.
