Responsibilities:â ¢ Operate metal processing equipment using safe work habits.â ¢ Observe processing operations to detect malfunctions and notify maintenance.â ¢ Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.â ¢ Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.â ¢ Safely clean equipment when jams occur.â ¢ Follow all procedures (e.g., LOTOTO, Fall Prevention, and Fire Prevention).â ¢ Clean up the work area at the end of the shift.â ¢ Keep work areas neat and orderly.â ¢ Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions.â ¢ Organize materials for more effective use of space.â ¢ Dispose of various waste materials appropriately.â ¢ Inspect to ensure cleanup is completed.â ¢ Maintain effective housekeeping in the workplace for safety and hygiene.Qualifications:â ¢ Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are grandfathered into their positions.â ¢ Must pass a medical physical and drug test.â ¢ Must pass a background check.â ¢ Preferred: high school diploma or GED and/or acceptable foreign education.â ¢ Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills are a plus.â ¢ Ability to communicate effectively, understand directions (written or oral), and use basic math skills as needed.Job Expectations:Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and SA Recycling safety, health, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.Physical Requirements:â ¢ Work Environment: Scrap metal recycling and shredder yard.â ¢ Equipment & Tools: Shredder & other metal processing equipment, hoists, hydraulic motors, mechanics tools.â ¢ Physical Demand Level: Light to Moderate.â ¢ Work Capacity: Shredder Operator - Work Capacity.â ¢ Sensory Demands: Hearing, vision, touch, smell, and taste.â ¢ Hand Movements: Repetitive motions, gripping.#J-18808-Ljbffr
