What you'll do:
- As one of our Heavy Equipment Mechanics you'll repair and maintain the transportation fleet and act as custodian of the fleet records.
- Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs preventative maintenance on all vehicles (approx. 97) every 90 days.
- Diesel Mechanic performs inspections on vehicles every 90 days.
- Diesel Mechanic repairs, as necessary, all vehicles to ensure they are safe and legal for use.
- Maintains registration all vehicles.
- Performs emergency on-road vehicle break down repairs as necessary.
- Maintains official vehicle records. Handles all transportation related agency inspections.
- Purchases all parts & supplies as needed. Insures VIK, VRS inspections are performed annually on tanker equipment.
- Installs PTOs, and pumps and new equipment for bulk deliveries.
- Assists tank farm personnel as needed with pump failures.
- Maintains waste oil generation and disposal records.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Requirements:
- Specialized training preferred in the following:
- Cummins diesel engines
- Eaton transmissions and differentials
- Rockwell differentials
- Heavy duty truck suspensions
- Heavy duty brake system
