VideosDuties Repair and replacing as necessary, diesel and gasoline engines. Perform assembly of mechanical components, providing technical assistance and repair procedures as required. Use a variety of hand tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and torque wrenches. Read and applying work orders, modification change requests, and illustrations. Assure that machine capacities are not exceeded, and hazardous material/waste are handles, stored, and disposed of properly. Fabricate, modify, and/or repairing electrical systems in combat vehicles. RequirementsConditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI). You may be expected to travel (TDY) in this position up to 10% of the time for business purposes. Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System. Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition. Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent. Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion. Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
