Job Description

Peterson Cat has a need for a Heavy Rents Sales Representative who will be based out of our Hillsboro, OR location.

SUMMARY

The Heavy Rents Sales Representative is responsible for strategically growing Heavy Rental revenue and market share, expanding the Heavy Rental customer base portfolio, prospecting and driving new Heavy Rental business through onboarding of new customers, and being a reputable industry expert in the Heavy Rental space for their assigned territory. This position requires the Heavy Rents Sales Representative to be away from the employer's place of business more than 50% of the time interacting with customers at their locations and/or job sites.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Achieve business plan results for the defined territory by:

* Achieving Heavy Rental Revenue growth targets.

* Working to grow active accounts through customer retention and new accounts.

* Meeting the minimum number of daily outbound sale calls, including office and jobsite visits.

* Developing and following daily/weekly/monthly call route and strategy for maintaining and prospecting business.

* Identifying and providing strategy for capturing business with key conquest opportunities.

* Harvest and execute on lead information from sources including but not limited to Sales Link, Dodge, and other Director of Heavy Rents and Used Sales assigned sources.

* Provide consistent feedback to management on fleet levels, potential new product additions, rental rates, and emerging markets to engage in the Heavy Rents space.

* Attend and actively participate in contractor and governmental association meetings and committees.

* Stay up to date on CAT product offerings and product improvements, including advanced technology application on heavy construction equipment, through self-learning and company-provided training and development opportunities.

* Complete and stay current with any suggested training by the Director of Heavy Rents and Used Sales within the scheduled timeframe.

* Fulfill requests from management for information & assistance, including collection activities.

* Ensure top customers in the assigned territory are assigned in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and all daily activities are recorded in a timely manner.

* Keep all customer profiles current in CRM; ensure all assigned customers are assigned a Planned Activity Report PAR level and physically visited no less than once per month.

* Perform on call duties as determined by customer needs and requests.

* Work with, assist, and promote other Peterson business groups to the betterment of Peterson as a whole.

* Maintain a professional appearance, as outlined in the Peterson Employee Handbook and specified by management.

* Travel up to 25% of the time to meet with customers, develop territory, and attend events; operate company or personal vehicle as needed

* Maintain regular, punctual, and predictable attendance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree from a fully accredited college in a related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of sales experience, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
