Job Description:
World-class chemical plant seeks an experienced Help Desk Support Specialist who is on a solid career track to join our growing team at our Donaldsonville plant. This department has strong collaboration and teamwork where team members work well together yet add value independently. This is a 6+ month contract with a high probability of being extended and could lead to a permanent position at the plant. Position OverviewAs our Help Desk Support Specialist, you are responsible for providing a point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment. To be successful in this position, you must have excellent analytical skills and the ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and set priorities.Position Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Installing, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all PCs and provide end-user assistance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user issues related to computer desktop applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktop/laptop computers and peripherals
  • Perform desktop and laptop re-imaging tasks
  • Install computer operating systems such as Windows 7
  • Install business software applications such as MS Office
  • Maintain system inventory logs
Position Salary/Compensation
  • $28.00 - $32.00/hr, depending on experience
  • Benefits offered through Lofton Staffing as a contractor
Requirements: Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 4 years IT technician / network / help desk experience required
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to independently troubleshoot and repair computer hardware including desktop computers, laptops, printers and the like
  • Must be fully capable of resolving technical issues with the Windows operating systems and basic network issues
  • Must be able to take on call every four weeks
  • Must have a current TWIC Card
