Job Description:
Position SummaryThis position supports the functions of the Information Technology department by maintaining and troubleshooting the organization's network systems. This position also supports various IT projects, and the web development team.Essential Job Functions and Tasks
  • These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
  • Provides technical support - identifying, investigating, and resolving users' problems with computer software and hardware - for problems specific to the organization's computer network and systems.
  • Organize resources so they are easy to locate
  • Resolve customer issues with company products
  • Answer other customer questions and offer them access to helpful resources
  • Direct questions to the right department when needed
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
  • Manage all desk administrative duties
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions with customers and recurring user problems
  • Follow up with customers as needed to ensure any problems are resolved
  • Monitors the assigned network, ensuring optimal function and minimal downtime.
  • Ensures networks are protected from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data by developing and monitoring security procedures or collaborating with network security staff.
  • Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems.
  • Collaborates with other staff to research and resolve problems.
  • Collaborates with systems and network administrators to explain errors and/or recommend modifications to systems and networks.
  • Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products.
  • Maintains knowledge of technological innovations and trends.
  • Performs similar or related duties as required or assigned
Work EnvironmentThis work environment is an office-like setting with moderate noise.Physical Demands The physical requirements listed for this job are not exhaustive and additional requirements may be added as needed. Corrective devices may be used to meet physical requirements. Physical Exertion: The incumbent may frequently be required to lift approximately 10 pounds and/or occasionally up to 25 pounds. Vision: The incumbent must possess close, midrange, distance and peripheral vision; as well as the ability to identify colors, judge distances and adjust focus. Speaking/Hearing: The incumbent must be able to give and receive information through speaking and listening. Motor Coordination: The incumbent in this position is frequently required to: use their hands and reach with their hands and arms. The incumbent is periodically required to: sit. The incumbent is occasionally required to: stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or bend.RequirementsRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required.At least two years of related experience.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical staff and customers.

  • Superior understanding of computer and networking hardware and software systems.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software.
