And since we know transforming the future of energy is hard work, we provide competitive compensation, incentives, excellent benefits and the opportunity to build a rewarding career.Are you in?Primary PurposePRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONAssists and/or performs (under supervision) installations, testing, reconnection, disconnection, and/or maintenance on all types of meters and metering devices Basic duties include preparing and handling metering devices including cleaning, disposal, labeling, and completing associated documents. Duties include routine physical activities associated with installation, removal and general handling of meters & associated devices, tools, and supplies, loading (JN loading of equipment racks, stocking, filling, and delivery of metering equipment orders.Primary DutiesPRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESAssists higher grade personnel with repair, maintenance, testing, reconnecting, disconnecting, installation and removal of metering devices.Loads/UN-loads meters on racks associated with the time-run of meters.Assist higher grade personnel with the retiring of meters making them, inoperable.Operates various tow motors, pallet jacks or similar material handling devices.Assist higher grade personnel with reading of cut-off meters and records meter number and readings in the MIDS system.Under supervision use various computer hardware, and software to record meter data and/or work activities.Assist in the preparation and completion of various logs, test documents, time sheets, and other required documents.Assist higher grade personnel preparing., delivering, and/or receiving materials from other departments, vendors, or customers.Provides assistance to customers and other employees.Maintains equipment stock in Pepco vehicles and/or Pepco facilities.Operates and maintains various hand tools, power tools and other tools as required.Use company Radio (mobile & portable).Perform basic preventative maintenance on a vehicle when being refueled.Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesJob ScopeJOB SCOPEMinimum QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSPossess basic knowledge of electrical measuring instruments (VOM, Digital Multi meter).Possess Basic Knowledge of electrical theory (ohms, current, volts, and watts).Perform work on energized circuits from 120 V AC to 250 V AC daily.Possess thorough knowledge and ability to apply mathematical formulas applicable to determining the accuracy of a meter.Ability to read, understand and follow verbal or written instructions/work assignments.Must be able to use and maintain Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with Pepco Safety manual and/or other Authorities.Complete company mandated safety requirements.Possess a valid Governmental/Jurisdictional driver's license.Basic working knowledge of computers.Must be willing to submit to government agencies clearances for access if necessary.Essential Physical Requirements (must be able to): 1. Work in extreme weather conditions and in broad spectrum of temperatures, water, lighting, dirt and dust conditions. 2. Work extended workday/week hours when required by system operating requirements and emergencies. 3. Work scheduled overtime 4. Independently Push or pull, lift, or carry up to 50lbs. 5. Stand, walk, for extended hours 6. Climb stairs or ladders 7. Squat, kneel, bend and/or twist 8. Use hands and arms simultaneously with a medium degree of manual dexterity. 9. Have good hearing and vision.Essential Knowledge/Experience 1. Ability to read, write, and speak English 2. Ability to follow direct multiple instructions. 3. Ability to print and write in a neat, legible manner. 4.
