JOB SUMMARY
The Hendrick Health Vice President, Compliance is responsible for leading and managing the organization's compliance program. The VP for Compliance will ensure that Hendrick Health operates within the legal and regulatory frameworks and adheres to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum Education
* Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, law, or a related field (Master's or JD preferred)
* Minimum Work Experience
* 5 to 10 years of healthcare experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
* Required Licenses/Certifications
* Certificate in healthcare compliance (e.g., CHC, CHPC) is required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
* Develops, implements, and maintains an effective compliance program to ensure the health system meets all regulatory and legal requirements.
* Responsible for ensuring that all laws, regulations, ethical requirements and policies and procedures that govern physician arrangements are strictly adhered to.
* Creates and updates policies and procedures to address compliance risks and regulatory changes.
* Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of the compliance program.
* Stays current with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that impact the health system.
* Ensures Hendrick Health's compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, OSHA, and CMS requirements.
* Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans in collaboration with the General Counsel.
* Conducts regular risk assessments and internal audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Oversees incident reporting processes and conduct investigations into compliance violations. Exercises considerable judgment and skill when investigation sensitive or confidential issues.
* Develops and implements an effective compliance training program for all employees, ensuring they understand their role in maintaining compliance.
* Conducts regular training sessions and provide resources to keep staff informed of compliance requirements and updates.
* Prepares and presents regular compliance reports to the CEO, senior management, and the Board of Directors.
* Fosters a culture of transparency and open communication regarding compliance issues.
* Maintains a confidential reporting system for compliance concerns and complaints.
* Promotes a culture of ethical behavior and integrity throughout the organization.
* Serves as a role model for ethical conduct and decision-making.
* Ensures that the organization's Code of Conduct is communicated and adhered to by all employees. Participates in the annual review of the system's Code of Conduct and as warranted, develops proposed revisions for presentation to the CEO.
* Identifies and develops key relationships with administrators, physicians, managers, team members and other internal and external persons that are necessary for accomplishing the job requirements.
* Represents the organization in various community forums.
* Demonstrates ethics and integrity at all times to establish the expectations that direct and indirect reports do the same. Engenders trust by communicating openly with others and sharing feedback in a constructive fashion.
