POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Program Director and in cooperation with other staff, and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, the Youth Sports Staff will be directly responsible for the set up and inventory of sports equipment, assisting with lining of fields and set up, mandatory attendance on game days for youth (ages 3 to 10) sports. He/She will assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all new youth sports programs. This also includes; basketball, baseball, softball, flag football, tournaments, camps, clinics, and other responsibilities as assigned. He/She must be enthusiastic and display strong interpersonal skills that will afford them the opportunity to develop positive relationships with coaches, children, and parents.OUR MISSION: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises a group of children and program activities.Assist with set up and take down of athletic equipment.Represent the YMCA and maintain appropriate relationships with members and youth.Assist with the organization, leadership, direction and emergency response team to the sports events.Assist in the monitoring of inventory in the department's equipment and to ensure effective, safe use.During the season, field maintenance which would include scheduled lining of fields.Officiate youth soccer, basketball, flag football, baseball or any particular sport a branch may provide.Represent the YMCA and maintain appropriate dress code.Begin each game with an opening circle.Responsible for gathering all game day equipment, supplies, and materials for weekend's game.Monitor gym or fields during practices and reporting any negative behavior to proper channels.Monitor practices and assist coaches if needed with proper equipment.This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions, it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.

- They must present a professional image and be able to create harmonious relationships with staff.
