Terms of employment: Winter sports season, starting December 3, 2024 - February 6, 2025. Dates and times will vary depending on the sports schedules for home games. The successful candidate for this position must be fingerprinted at their own expense. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and clearance by Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Stipend: $2,000 for Winter Sports Season
Benefits: Eligible employees may accrue sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked under Washington State Law. Upon working 630 hours in a school year, eligible employees may be eligible for insurance benefits through School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) which includes, medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance.
Essential Functions: Under the supervision of and reporting to the Athletic Director. The duties and responsibilities of the Game Manager shall be as follows:
* Check on gym set up and assure that the game area is ready for play
* Setup and tear down game areas per the direction of building administration
* Monitor and assist in the management of athletes and fans; Assure that the fans are in appropriate areas and that they are respectful to the facilities and others at events
* Be visible to event participants
* Assure that all offices, locker rooms and other areas not necessary to the event area are locked (only restrooms should be unlocked during the contest)
* Welcome the officials and greet the visiting coaches and administrators upon arrival and at half time
* During half time, escort the opposing team to and from the locker rooms/designated changing area; Make sure the area is locked when not in use
* Meet with the Athletic Director weekly to discuss a plan for athletics
* Announce starting lineups at all home games
* Assist putting all equipment away and assure that it is secured
* Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
* Ability to work in a positive way with students, parents, and community members
* Knowledge of district regulations and guidelines for each event
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, move and set up event equipment
* Knowledge or ability to learn how to set up and use the sound systems and scoreboards
* Ability to work with coaches, officials, and administrators to assure a safe environment for participants and spectators
* Ability to provide leadership in an emergency situation to assure the safety of students and participants
