The Division of Extended Studies (ES) provides courses to full-time, part-time, and non-traditional students. Many educational methods - classroom instruction, correspondence courses, online courses, conferences, workshops, and seminars - are utilized to expand educational access and meet the needs of students at convenient times and settings. Students may earn academic credit toward a degree, study for career advancement, or pursue cultural and avocational interests. Description of Job The High School Programs Specialist is responsible for administering the daily tasks of High School Programs, with a particular focus on Dual Enrollment/Concurrent Enrollment. This position works closely with various campus departments, students and parents to increase program enrollment, course offerings, teaching personnel, and to assist in the transition of high school students to post-secondary enrollment at CSU Pueblo. This position will work closely with the Associate Director of Academic Pathways and Programs to support various operational and business functions to ensure the concurrent enrollment program's success. Primary DutiesProgram Support
  • Provides administrative functions and office support to ensure success and growth in High School Programs.
  • Works with school district administrators to identify areas of growth to expand dual enrollment program opportunities for students.
  • Coordinates with Director of Operations to develop and disseminate program MOUs; works with school partners to identify, advise, and register students for semester coursework.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of correspondence and student records in adherence with FERPA guidelines.
  • Establishes and carries out timelines for program operations to program liaisons and instructors, satellite campus and departmental staff, and other campus departments.
  • Coordinates course needs with department and division staff to ensure timely and accurate course registrations each semester.
  • Provides administrative support for program planning and execution of events to include meeting planning, program event scheduling, course builds, preparation of event materials, payment of invoices and other financial support.
School Personnel/Student Support
  • Coordinates with school liaisons and campus instructors on uses of campus systems to register students, verify enrollments, and retrieve student academic records.
  • Provides a high level of support, technical guidance and verification processes in Banner for student registration and reporting purposes.
  • Develops and delivers orientation sessions for students and their parents to clarify admissions, financial aid, registration processes, and other academic policies.
  • Refers students to additional campus services to ensure increased academic success and satisfaction in the program. Collaborates with other campus departments to assist students in their transition to post-secondary enrollment at CSU Pueblo or other institutions.
  • Oversees the student registration process. Verifies information against report data for third-party billing.
  • Monitors student course progress and completion; troubleshoots and resolves registration errors. Assists students with add/drop, withdrawals, COF authorizations, registration holds and student billing.
  • Ensures the technical needs of the program for instructors and students are met and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates with Track Center, Admissions Counselors, and Pack Center to support enrollment for college after participating in the High School Programs opportunity.
Recruitment & Marketing
  • Works with the Marketing Specialist to promote the program in print, on the website, on social medial platforms and via text messaging.
  • Attends and hosts functions, orientations or other information sessions, outside of normal business hours as necessary, to promote the program, meet with high school personnel, students and their families, and other campus partners to increase program awareness and enrollment.

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
  • Effective written communication skills
  • Experience in a customer service role
  • Experience in a position or activity that required the ability to think critically and solve complex problems
  • Experience in a position or activity that required effective verbal communication skills
  • Experience with, or commitment to, advancing diversity and inclusion in higher education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Working knowledge of enterprise information systems (Banner), and digital workflow systems (Formstack)
  • Knowledge of regional accreditation and higher education regulatory processes
  • Advanced working knowledge of Banner
  • Experience working with high school students in an academic setting
  • Experience in academic advising
