Starting salary for the 24/25 school year = $40,634 plus full benefits package. Position Summary: Secretarial/clerical personnel perform all necessary clerical functions and handle correspondence appropriate to the efficient operation of the district. Secretarial/clerical personnel report directly to the principal of the building to which they are assigned or in the case of the central office to the superintendent or other appropriate administrator. Secretarial/Clerical personnel cooperate with all other secretarial/clerical personnel and perform tasks for professional personnel when assigned to do so by the immediate superior. The Level I Secretarial/Clerical job classification includes the Receptionist classification, Secretary to the Assistant Principals, Counseling Secretaries, and any full-time clerical position not classified as Level II. Experience:
School district experience preferred. Secretarial/clerical experience preferred. Proficient in technology/computer use required Functions/Duties/Responsibilities: Secretarial/clerical personnel have the responsibility to: Serve as a receptionist; answer routine questions for visitors and people who call; and refer to the proper person all persons with questions not of a routine nature. Make announcements on the Public Address System as required. Assist with the preparation and distribution of parent and student notices. Work in cooperation with all office personnel to prepare student, teacher, and staff information as needed. Coordinate forms and badges daily for substitute teachers. Sort and distribute mail. Type, duplicate, and distribute any correspondence, reports, or bulletins. Monitor student attendance violations, if specific to position. Assist principal/assistant principal with projects requested. Collect and compile student data for After School & Summer Tutorial Programs, if requested by administration. Assist with the inventory of supplies and the distribution of supplies within buildings; maintain office supply inventory. Ensure supervisors are kept informed of all school news and/or incidents. Establish a satisfactory rapport with students, other staff members, parents, and the public. Secretarial/clerical personnel are available to their immediate supervisor for assignment to other clerical functions. Perform any and all clerical duties to ensure the efficient operation of the office environmental school building.
