Position Type: Athletics/Activities/CoachingDate Posted: 11/18/2024Location: Mineral County High School Position Overview The Yearbook Advisor reports directly to the School Principal at the site they are assigned and responsible for guiding and overseeing the production of the school yearbook. This includes managing the yearbook staff, planning the content, and ensuring the timely completion of the yearbook. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Performance of these functions is the reason the job exists. Assigned job tasks/duties are not limited to the essential functions).
  • Yearbook Production
    • Guide students in the planning, design, and layout of the yearbook.
    • Oversee the selection of themes, content, and photography.
    • Ensure deadlines are met for each stage of production.
  • Student Management
    • Recruit and train students to be part of the yearbook staff.
    • Assign tasks and monitor progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
    • Encourage creativity and collaboration among students.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work with the school administration, teachers, coaches/advisors and students to gather content.
    • Communicate with the yearbook publishing company to ensure quality and timely delivery.
    • Promote the yearbook and manage sales and distribution.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Maintain accurate records of yearbook sales and expenditures.
    • Ensure all activities comply with school policies and safety regulations.

Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods. Strength and stamina to bend, stoop, sit, and stand for long periods of time. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of files, stacks of paper or reports, references, and other materials. Some reach for items above and below desk level. Some reaching, bending, squatting, and stooping to access files and records is necessary. The manual dexterity and cognitive ability to operate a personal computer using word processing and databases. Involves hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Light lifting (up to 25 pounds) is occasionally required.
