Job Description:

About the job

IC Photonics is at the forefront of transforming data center and AI interconnect solutions with our cutting-edge Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) technology. By leveraging our proprietary CMOS architecture and pump laser IP, and integrating seamlessly with existing SiPh solutions, we're delivering high-bandwidth, low-power optical I/O that redefines chip-to-chip, blade-to-blade, and rack-to-rack communication. Working with us means getting the opportunity to be a part of and contribute to the world's first full CMOS integration of RF components onto the DSP chip resulting in an order of magnitude reduction in power consumption and cost for the customer.

Problem solving, curiosity and endless desire to innovate is in our DNA! We are looking for a bright and highly motivated RF/High-speed Analog Design Engineer with boundless energy and overwhelming desire to succeed to join our team as we embark on the next chapter of our journey. As one of the first few hires, you will have a lasting impact on building the next generation of highly efficient, low-latency and scalable optical interlinks for AI datacenters.

RF/HIGH-SPEED ANALOG IC DESIGN ENGINEER (SILICON ENGINEERING)

We are seeking a motivated, proactive, and intellectually curious RF/High-Speed Analog IC engineer who will work alongside world-class cross-disciplinary teams (systems, firmware, architecture, design, validation, product engineering). In this role, you will be developing cutting-edge next-generation fully integrated SerDes chips for deployment in AI datacenters. These chips are enabling optical connectivity in places it has previously not been available, affordable or reliable. Join us to help deliver cutting-edge solutions that will expand the performance and capabilities of the AI datacenters.

Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate and model RF/high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems in CMOS processes with a focus on transceivers (TIA, TX Driver) and broadband circuits interfacing with silicon photonics elements
  • Work with system architects to derive specifications for the RFIC subsystems and circuits
  • Perform IC floor planning and layout
  • Model package and external parasitic components
  • Evaluate and characterize prototypes of the design
  • Characterize and analyze full performance
  • Assist in the development of automated test lab equipment for lab measurements

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering with an emphasis in RF/Analog/Mixed-signal integrated circuit design
  • 5+ years of RF/high-speed analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit experience
  • Solid understanding and experience of designing analog mixed signal circuit blocks including Bandgap, biasing circuits, LDO regulators, amplifiers, comparators, switched-cap circuits, High-Speed ADCs, High-Speed DACs, Oscillators, Filters
  • Experience and solid understanding of Tx/Rx equalization techniques and circuits (e.g. CTLE, DFE, de-emphasis) for 64-100+ Gbps NRZ and PAM4/6/8 applications
  • Experience using simulation tools such as Spectre, ADS, HFSS or RaptorX
  • Circuit design skills, and experience performing analysis and simulation of both linear and non-linear circuits such as phase-locked loops, vector modulators/demodulators, oscillators, mixers, filters, low noise and power amplifiers
  • Knowledge of digital communication systems, spread spectrum, single and multi-carrier techniques and modulation types such as QPSK, APSK and QAM
  • Experience characterizing RF performance in microwave frequencies
  • High-Speed (>28GHz) and Low Jitter (
