About the positionThe Hostler position at Hiland Dairy Foods Company involves operating a Yard Mule to manage the movement of tankers and trailers within the facility. The role is critical for ensuring efficient logistics and maintaining safety and cleanliness in the work environment. The Hostler is responsible for performing daily maintenance checks, securing equipment, and adhering to safety and food quality standards.Responsibilities
- Operate Yard Mule to move tankers/trailers
- Fuel equipment as needed
- Perform daily maintenance checks and report any malfunctions to the garage
- Couple/uncouple tractor-trailer units and connect/disconnect brake lines safely
- Shuttle tankers/trailers from staging areas to various loading areas
- Anticipate trailer needs and move tankers/trailers according to business needs
- Perform required trailer inventories and temperature checks and report any discrepancies
- Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
- Follow all safety and security policies and procedures
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Follow all food safety and quality system requirements
- Maintain reliable attendance and consistent work hours
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- CDL B Minium
- Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required
- Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently
- Minimum age: 21
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical
- Valid driver's license is required
- PAY RATE: $22.62/hr
- DAYS: Sun 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m,
- Mon-Thurs.-1:30 p.m.-10:30 p.
