Office Clerk Job Description
The Front Desk Office clerk shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
The majority of the Front desk Office clerk's job will include handling the main switchboard for the plant. Responsibility will include dealing with people in person and over the phone, and as such, needs a good telephone voice and a pleasant disposition. It is imperative that he or she can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, as well as work well with numbers.
S/he will need to be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision.
The successful applicant will coordinate activities with other departments and supervisors.
S/he will be required to operate and be familiar with all basic office equipment, including personal computers. This will include, but not be limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database applications Extensive use of ten key calculators and spreadsheet applications will occur and proficiency is required.
S/he will be required to sit, and stand for long periods of time. Will be required to lift and move large amounts of paperwork (boxes of files). S/he will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data.
Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Overtime may be required, including occasional Saturday work which will require differing hours.
The following qualifications are required:
* High School diploma or G.E.D
* Previous office experience - minimum one year preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office - excel, word, powerpoint and data base applications
* Typing 50 WMP
* Proficiency in 10 key calculators
