Job Type Full-timeDescriptionSummary:Assigns ICD-9CM and/or ICD-10 CM, and CPT codes for all patient encounters. Assigns ICD-10 PCS for all inpatient hospital encounters.Possible for remote work in these states ONLY. Minimum - High School or GED with certificate of medical terminology training and/or Anatomy and Physiology.

Preferred - AHIMA certification as CCS, or AHIMA registration as RHIT or RHIA.

Experience Required:

Minimum -1-3 years coding experience in an acute care setting.

Preferred - 5+ years coding experience in acute care facility with specialty units.

Special Requirements:Cognitive Requirements:

Emotional maturity and good people skills required.

Must possess analytical and problem solving skills.

Physical Demands:

Visual concentration due to use of VDT (approximately 60-75% of the time).

Extended periods of sitting.

Environment:

Noisy environment - (slave printers x 8).

Extreme heat year-round (department located above live steam line running to mechanical room).
