Job Description:
Greater Regional Health has a full time opportunity for a Certified Coder. While in this role the candidate will provide Coding for hospital accounts utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10 PCS & CPT codes.Responsibilities include:
  • Have the ability to work both as a team and independently
  • Check charges and query physicians
  • Work closely with billing to reconcile charges that are missing or lack medical necessity
  • Ensure accurate and compliant information is present
  • Classes in anatomy and physiology as well as medical terminology and basic pharmacology helpful
  • Assess documentation to ensure all is reportable to ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS
  • Communicate efficiently with hospital staff in an effective, professional manner
Educational requirements and skills:
  • Completion of coding classes for both ICD-10 and CPT
  • Certifications accepted include: CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, and RHIT or RHIA
  • Other certification may also be accepted after management review
  • Classes in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and basic pharmacology are a plus.
