Greater Regional Health has a full time opportunity for a Certified Coder. While in this role the candidate will provide Coding for hospital accounts utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10 PCS & CPT codes.Responsibilities include:
- Have the ability to work both as a team and independently
- Check charges and query physicians
- Work closely with billing to reconcile charges that are missing or lack medical necessity
- Ensure accurate and compliant information is present
- Classes in anatomy and physiology as well as medical terminology and basic pharmacology helpful
- Assess documentation to ensure all is reportable to ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS
- Communicate efficiently with hospital staff in an effective, professional manner
Educational requirements and skills:
- Completion of coding classes for both ICD-10 and CPT
- Certifications accepted include: CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, and RHIT or RHIA
- Other certification may also be accepted after management review
- Classes in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and basic pharmacology are a plus.
