Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionWe are a manufacturer of plastic products in the blown film industry located in Hudson, WI. Picture the plastic that holds magazines in place when purchasing from the airport, or the plastic wrapped around hay bales in Western Wisconsin, or the wrap that holds new furniture or appliances together. We provide our plastic products to the agriculture, medical, and manufacturing industries. In this role, you will be responsible for helping run one of three blown film lines. This is a labor-intensive and fast-paced job where you will operate, load, and palletize large plastic rolls into smaller ones.ResponsibilitiesUse shaft hoistCore loading, taping, and taggingRoll handlingPackaging and palletizingReplacing trimsBarrel switching and changingQuality control and identifying bad productLoading and maintaining scrap conveyorLabeling, boxing, and loading 50-pound plastic rollsChanging out cutting knives on the machinePackaging rolls after indexing them from one core to another or maintaining a machine that indexes the rolls automaticallyPackaging all products according to customer specifications and production standardsObserving rolls for splices and changesWorking with other packers to keep production lines runningEnsuring correct counts and supplies according to job specificationsNotifying lead or supervisor of production defectsAssisting lead or supervisor in changeovers or setting up the production lineFollowing quality specifications when packing productMaintaining a safe and clean workplaceSustaining productivity and quality standardsFollowing all OSHA requirements and standardsEssential SkillsAbility to work 12-hour rotating shifts requiring every other weekend availabilityEssential reading and writing skillsMinimum one year of experience in an industrial environment preferredExperience with automated manufacturing equipment preferredAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand for 8-12 hours during a shiftAdditional Skills & QualificationsGeneral labor experienceMachine operation experiencePackaging skillsBlown film experiencePlastics extrusionPlastic film and injection experienceHand tool proficiencyForklift operationInspection skillsWhy Work Here?We're committed to providing our employees with meaningful benefits and real opportunities. The work environment can get warm during the summers and is not climate controlled due to the heat required to melt resin beads.
