Hiring Skilled Material Handlers /Forklift Drivers -Job DescriptionCandidates will be responsible for both material handler responsibilities (which is the position below the Operator B) AND operator duties as they progressCandidate will pelletize materials, load/unload trucks, use a forklift when needed and down pack chemicalsCandidates will be responsible for chemical handling and hooking up barrels or end use containers to piping systems for chemical down packing for shipmentAll Candidate will regularly operate forklifts to transport materials however this is not a forklift role, this is a chemical operator in training positionCandidates must be able to work rotating schedule, and perform all compliance listed below prior to startingIdeal candidate has MT1 Certification (1 year in Manufacturing) and must have forklift experience on sit down liftsDuties and Responsibilities:Operate sit down forklifts to load and unload materialsTransport products to and from designated areas in the facilityPerform daily equipment checks and maintenanceFollow safety protocols and company proceduresAssist with inventory management and stock controlMaintain a clean and organized work environment.Basic Requirement:Candidate ideally has a chemical processing background and/or familiarity with manufacturing processes specificallyCandidate Must be able to work rotation schedule of 3/2/2/3 for 12 hour shifts where they rotate every time they come back to the plantExample: Friday, Sat and Sunday off, work Monday and Tuesday Night shift 7-7, Off Wed thurs and would come back Friday on a day shift.Every time they rotate days they rotate shifts.When they are fully staffed, they will work a 24/5 schedule where they rotate each week.Candidates should have the capacity to be able to be promoted to a chemical operator role; fractions, mathematics, heavy computer usage, conversions, etc.3 of their 5 supervisors all started in packaging and material handlingWork Environment & Pay Rate:Rotating Shifts $20.5/hrAbout Aerotek:We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
