Job Title: Histopathology Technician. Location: Danville, IL 61832 Duration: 1+ Year or Full time (options for 26 weeks contract) Start date: Jan 2025 Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am 4:30 pm. Qualifications

Preferred certification in Histopathology Experience: Minimum one-year experience.

Responsibilities

• Accession and receive samples into the laboratory information system, ensuring proper preparation and physiological integrity of specimens.
• Perform automated and non-automated procedures in Cytology and Surgical Pathology, following established protocols.
• Calibrate, standardize, and maintain instruments, perform quality control checks, and make necessary repairs.
• Conduct quality control procedures, maintain records, and perform validation studies on lab equipment.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs, manage records in the Histology department, and monitor temperature in histology areas.
• Liaise with clinics, providers, Decedent's affairs, and funeral homes regarding specimens, labeling, and morgue compliance.
• Handle tasks related to frozen section processing and maintain supplies and records for the department.
