Cheshire Academy seeks a full-time History teacher for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year.The successful candidate will have substantive knowledge of the historiography in their field, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and a desire to work with a diverse community of students from around the world. Specific background in the History of the Americas and the United States will distinguish the most qualified candidates, as will background, familiarity, and/or direct experience with the IB program.Classroom teaching responsibilities include 4 or 5 courses per semester in grade level 9-PG. Several years of prior teaching experience - ideally in independent/boarding schools - and a background of integrating technology with best pedagogical practices are preferred.Other responsibilities include:
- Advising;
- Coaching and/or leading cocurricular activities;
- Weekend team responsibilities;
- Residential/dormitory duties (if housing is provided.)
- Must have a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CT A endorsement for purposes of transporting students.
While there are other ways to contribute to the cocurricular program, current coaching needs that we are looking to fill include:
- Boys Tennis (Head Coach)
- Track and Field
- Girls Lacrosse
- Football
- Baseball
- Boys and Girls Tennis
