JOB SUMMARYThe Director of Education is a Registered Nurse with overall responsibility for the Agency's educational program. Directs orientation and in-service training programs for all Agency staff.RESPONSIBIITIES1. Collaborates with the Administrator and other key staff (including but not limited to: Director of Clinical Reimbursement (Quality Department), Clinical Management staff, FieldSupervisor(s)/Preceptor(s) and Corporate) to provide a process to promote and ensure employee orientation, competency and in-service education programs.a) Assists in the identification of skills for annual competence and provides in-service training support.2. Develops, implements and evaluates the orientation program for new personnel. Responsible for orientation of new Agency personnel, either directly or by delegating to another staff member.3. Plans and implements in-service and continuing education programs to meet education and training needs of Agency personnel. These programs shall increase staff level of effectiveness and competency.4. Coordinates and teaches mandatory annual in-service programs.5. Annually, assesses all personnel's educational needs and develops programs to meet those needs.6. Is member of Agency Performance Improvement Committee.a) Works with the Quality Department to identify in-service/training topics to meet action plan requirements for field nurses and management staff.b) Reports on competency trends to PI Committee.7. Provides educational programs, in-service education and conferencing opportunities for clinical management staff as indicated to increase their level of effectiveness and competency.8. Acts as resource to Administrator and Quality Department regarding standards, policies, regulations and provides in-service training to staff as needed in these areas.9. Acts a clinical resource to staff:a) Maintains updated nursing knowledge and skills, consistent with current best practice.10. Maintains positive relationships with referral sources and employees of organization.11. Promotes self-growth and collegial relationships with others in the home health industry:a) Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personnel and professional networks and participating in professional organizations.QUALIFICATIONS- Masters Degree of Nursing, preferably in Education, Nurse Practitioner, or Clinical Nurse Specialist, licensed and in good standing to practice in the state of operation.- Three (3) to Five (5) year's recent home health experience required, and one (1) year of experience in a home health leadership or education position.- Demonstrated experience in adult education skills and program development.- Strong understanding of state, federal and ACHC regulations and Standards, including OASIS.- Infusion experience and competency preferred.- OASIS certification preferred, or willing to obtain within 12 months.- Is self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.- Has excellent coordination and communication skills.Salary: $130,000
