Home Health Aide (Certified) Live In (Staten Island)Staten Island, NY, USAReq #11659Tuesday, November 5, 2024Description:The Home Health Aid provides personal care, home management and other related home health supportive services in accordance with the DOH Matrix entitled, Permissible and Non-Permissible Activities: Home Health Aide Services , in order to assist the individual to continue living in their home environment when there are disruptions due to illness, disability, social disadvantage or other problems in the home. The Home Health Aide is under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assists with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulationAssist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (i.e., doctor's appointments, errands, etc.)Plans, prepares, and serves meals in accordance with prescribed diet, and encourages fluid intakeActs quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencyPerforms light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, vacuuming, dusting, and moppingAssists with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and attending doctor's appointmentsProvides companionship and engages in activities with the clients, such as reading, playing games, and going for walksMeasures intake and output of fluidsMonitors vital signs and reports changes to the physician, nurse, or agency supervisorKeeps a detailed record of caregiving activities, including eating habits, mood changes, and physical activity levelsCollaborates with the client's family members and other health care professionals to ensure the best possible outcomeAdheres to all safety precautions and infection control proceduresMaintains a clean and orderly environmentObserves appearance and gross behavioral changes in the client and reports to the agency supervisor.Perform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skill Set & Qualifications RequiredSuccessful completion of a New York State Department of Health approved Home Health Aide training program as demonstrated by a valid Home Health Aide Certificate.High school or equivalent (preferred, not required)Sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the jobAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.Good organization and communication skills and ability to read, write, understand, carry out directions, keep simple medical records, and function with minimal supervision.Ability to operate: walker, cane, crutches, wheelchair, commode, hospital bed, hoyer lift, household appliances (i.e., vacuum, refrigerator, stove, blender, toaster, etc.)Ability to portray exemplary customer service, speaking with respond, and avoid conflict.Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorshipGreat Perks and BenefitsWeekly PayHealth InsuranceDirect DepositSick TimeSafety Equipment ProvidedHazard PayPaid OrientationPlace to advance and build a careerSupportive Work EnvironmentLocation –we'll do our best to provide clients as close to you as possible.Refer A Friend & Be RewardedSalaryLive in rate $265.00 per dayOther detailsTravel % 100Apply NowStaten Island, NY, USA
