We also offer customized full-service private duty home care to allow clients to stay in the comfort of their own homes. Our services cover a wide range of specialized care, including spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, stroke and neurological disorders, complex orthopedic injuries and amputations, psychiatric care, post-operative care, burn and wound care, ventilation and tracheostomy management, and IV infusion and injections. In addition, we provide personal care services such as Alzheimer's and dementia care, medication reminding, grooming assistance, companionship and social engagement, physical activity and exercise, vital sign management, transfers and ambulation, errands and transportation, and light housekeeping. We are located in New York, NY and serve the five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Home Health Aide at Allegiant Home Care. The Home Health Aide will be responsible for providing personalized care and assistance to clients in their homes. Daily tasks may include assisting with activities of daily living, providing patient care, administering medication, ensuring personal hygiene, engaging in social activities, monitoring vital signs, assisting with transfers and ambulation, running errands, providing transportation, and performing light housekeeping duties.

Qualifications
  • Home Care skills, including knowledge of home health care practices and protocols
  • Effective Communication skills to interact with clients, their families, and the care team
  • Proficiency in Activities of Daily Living (ADL), such as assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Patient Care skills, including the ability to monitor and assess the client's condition and provide necessary assistance and support
  • Personal Care skills, such as providing companionship, engaging in social activities, and promoting physical activity/exercise
  • Experience with Alzheimer's and dementia care and understanding of related care techniques
  • Medication management and reminding skills
  • Ability to assist with transfers and ambulation, ensuring the safety and mobility of the client
  • Capability to run errands and provide transportation for the client
  • Basic knowledge of light housekeeping tasks
  • Certification or training as a Home Health Aide or similar field is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Compassion, empathy, and patience in providing care
