HOME HEALTH AIDE

Location: Wilmington, DE

Status: Full time

Shift: Monday – Friday 10 am to 6 pm, every other weekend

Incentives: Sign On Bonus

Position Purpose:

The Home Health Aide is responsible for providing essential care services to maintain participants personal needs, support, and health status.

Position Details:

This position qualifies for a $2500 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment. The 3 installments are paid out over the two-year commitment period.

This position will provide care and assistance to participants in their homes.

What you will do:

  • Personal care assistance to maintain participants' independence in daily activities.

  • Assist in the maintenance of physical activity, exercise, and walking.

  • Reporting on provided care services and participant's condition changes.

  • Provide behavioral supervision and emotional support for participants.

  • General assistance in conversing, recreation activities, meal serving, and housekeeping.

  • Escorting participants to appointments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Active Home Health Aide or Certified Nurse Assistant Certification (preferred)

  • Active CPR Certification

  • Minimum one year of experience with elderly population or equivalent training

  • Valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle required for each shift due to home care assignments.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one year of experience, must receive appropriate training upon hire.

  • Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred

  • Valid driver's license, insurance use of personal vehicle.

  • Manage conflict well, be customer focused and flexible to adapt to ongoing change.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system.
