JOB ANNOUNCEMENT TITLE: Home VisitorPROGRAM: Cape Cod & the Islands Healthy Families Programs HOURS: Full-time (flexible hours required)SALARY: $27.10 per hour plus benefitsBENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Holiday, Paid earned leave, Retirement, etc.DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Home Visitor's responsibilities include the following:Provide home visiting for young parents Home visitors teach parents about proper baby care, promote nurturing and attachment, practice effective parenting skills, and ensure parents have a solid understanding of healthy child development. They also work with parents on achieving personal goals.Participate in group support with familiesParticipate in community outreach and help/improve family's access to services in their communities.Serve as a role model and give support and encouragement to parents and their families to help raise healthy children.Track, record and maintain participant data as required.Disseminate appropriate materials in strategic places throughout the community detailing the need for early prenatal care, parenting education and prevention of child abuse.Participate in on-the-job training in infant care, nutrition, parenting skills, childbirth education and child development as required by funders and Health Imperatives.Other duties as assigned by the Director/Supervisor.RequirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma and three to five years of early childhood experience or bachelor's degree in social work, early childhood education, human services or related field and one to three years of early childhood experience. Travel required. Reliable transportation, valid MA driver's license, auto insurance, registration, and a safe driving record required. Knowledge of community resources helpful. Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
