Position Type: Special EducationDate Posted: 9/8/2023Location: Willson BuildingPosition Type: Homebound Instructor Date Posted: 09/11/2023 Location: Variable (school or community settings), dependent on student specific situations Rate of Pay: $35.36 per hour during the 2023-24 school year Description: The Bozeman Public Schools seeks a cadre of potential Homebound Instructors, able to provide instruction for students who are temporarily unable to attend school. The specific goals of such homebound, hospital, or off-stite instruction shall be: 1. To assit the studnet to maintain academic functioning at as normal a level as possible during the time he/she is unable to attend school. 2. To promote communication between the student and school so that he/she feels part of the school community. Homebound, hospital or off-site instruction will be provided by or under the direction of a teacher with a current Montana certificate. Technology assisted instruction may be provided as part of a homebound, hospital, or off-site program. Five hours per week of one-to-one instruction will normally be considered adequate to maintain a student's skill level. Homebound instruction shall not exceed 10 hours per week, unless required as part of a child's Individualized Education Program. It is expected that students will work independently on assignments between tutorial visits. This posting will be used to develop a pool of interested candidates. When a specific need for homebound instruction arises, applications will be reviewed and applicants will be contacted for an interview. This may occur at variable points during the school year, depending on student need. Qualifications: Teacher with a current Montana certificate preferred. Substitute teacher qualifications may be acceptable, working under the direction of a school-based licensed teacher
