Under the direction of the RN or Rehab Therapist, the Homecare Assistant performs various basic patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, physical needs, and comfort of patient in the home setting at the level specified in the plan of treatment. The Homecare Aide prioritizes and delivers basic patient care which may include toileting, bathing, linen and clothing changes, fresh water and ice, ambulating, comfort measures, and other patient needs. Unlike a patient care aide in a hospital or clinic, the Homecare Aide requires a current driver's license, insurance, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record to travel to deliver care where needed in a safe and timely fashion.

At Intermountain Health, Homecare and Hospice in Ogden, we service both home health and hospice patients of all ages. Our team consists of Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Certified Nurses Aides, Social Workers, Chaplains, and Hospice Volunteers.

We cover Davis and Weber counties, including Eden and Morgan valleys. We get to meet patients and their families in their home and develop that personal connection that is often just not possible in a sterile, clinical environment.

Often is it the cares of our CNAs that most help our patients to remain in their home and live their most independent lives possible. The hours for the part time CNA position are afternoons 2-3 days per week and every other Saturday and Sunday 6 am - 2 pm, but hours are flexible depending on patient preference.

Hours: Part Time - 20 hours/week

Minimum Qualifications

* Current CNA Certification in the state of Utah.

* Current driver's license, insurance, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.

* Basic Life Support Certification for healthcare providers.

* Must be at least 18 years old.

* Ability to access the Internet or a phone line to transfer patient files twice a day.

* Ability to transfer and position patients independently and safely.

* Effective interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience using a computer including data entry or patient charting.

* Experience working in home health or hospice.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$18.12 - $23.55
