Job Description:
NeighborWorks Home Partners is seeking a bilingual full-time Homeownership Advisor to join our growing homeownership center.The RoleUnder the supervision of the Homeownership Advising Manager, the Homeownership Advisor will work with the community at large and be responsible for the implementation and delivery of educational and advising programs focused on homeownership. These programs may include homebuyer education, financial advising and coaching, pre-purchase, refinance, and foreclosure intervention counseling. The Homeownership Advisor will utilize budgeting, debt reduction, and credit rebuilding tools to enable our clients to reach their homeownership goals. This role plays an active role in community outreach and collaborates with industry partners.The CandidateAs a strong candidate, you have case management experience and a high degree of self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and a consistent attention to details. You have a couple of your HUD or advising certifications, or you are fluent in English and either Somali or Spanish and are excited to receive the necessary training to build your skills in this important field.Required:Experience and ability to work with people of diverse social economic backgrounds with the ability to adjust style and pace to meet client or audience needs.Strong written, verbal communication and public speaking skills.Ability to obtain and maintain necessary professional certifications.AA/BA/BS degree in Human Services, Business, Real Estate or related field (or equivalent experience).Fluency in two or more languages (including English and either Spanish or Somali).Experience delivering housing or advising programs in one-on-one and group settings.Experience with homeownership education, advising, Federal housing programs.Computer proficiency - Microsoft Office, Salesforce or other CRM.Physical and Schedule Requirements:Ability to travel and transport educational aids to twin cities area work sites.Must be able to work nights, weekends and on call as necessary.This position is a hybrid in person (minimum 2 days/wk + required appointments/workshops in person) and optional virtual work environment. Work stations in a home environment must be private.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the assigned and essential functions.CompensationSalary range anticipated $48,300 - $55,500, depending on qualifications. This is a benefits-eligible, full-time position.
