Job Summary:
As a Hose Technician at Belt Power, LLC, you will responsible for the cutting hose to length, building hose assemblies with a variety of tools and equipment, and understanding crimping specifications for hydraulic hose assemblies.
Responsibilities:
* Build Hydraulic and Industrial Hose assemblies.
* Operating a hose crimping machine.
* Identify thread connections and end fittings.
* Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock area, follows sales orders.
* Attention to detail.
* Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
* Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
* Perform duties to fabricate, check tolerances and pressure test hose assemblies.
* Work in a manner that ensures the safety of everyone involved. Exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment.
* Detect and report defective equipment, material and any improper operations or unusual conditions.
* Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations; maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
* Always represent Belt Power in a professional manner.
* Required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* 1+ yr. proven experience in field service work, maintenance, or other hands on work
* Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail
* Strong mechanical background and the ability to read blueprints
* The ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure or calipers
* Basic math skills and computer skills
* Mechanical Aptitude
* Adapt to changing situations
* Strong communication skills written and verbal
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as ability to work at heights and tight spaces
* Overtime hours and weekend work may be required
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record
* Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
* High school diploma or equivalent education
Desired characteristics:
* Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems
* Maintenance, belt tech experience preferred
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. The noise level is moderately loud. Generally well-ventilated and well lit. Shop employees may be required to wear protective clothing. Operation of heavy equipment and strict safety regulations are required.
Physical Demands:
The Hose Technician may lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and will require manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools, and other items used to make adjustments and / or minor maintenance. Will use hands, arms, back, and shoulders to handle, install, position, move items, and manipulate other objects. Could be in a standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting position for long periods of time.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position in a shop. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional weekend work.
Pay Range: $18.00 an hour
