Lockport. Niagara Hospice. HHA Hospice Aide. Salary Range: $18.00 To $20.00 Hourly Niagara Hospice is looking for a compassionate, certified Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our Home Care team. The HHA will provide in home HHA services to patients throughout Niagara County under Niagara Hospice care. Schedule: Full Time Monday - Friday 9am-5pm, with every other weekend required Location: On the road within Niagara County Duties & Responsibilities Reviews patient Nurses Aide Care Plan and reports change in patients condition to RN/LPN and/or Supervisor Assist patients with showering and personal care assistance (including oral, hair and nail care) Assists with transfers to toilet and records output if necessary Empties drainage collection devices (foley catheters, leg bags, etc.) Application/removal/disposal of incontinence briefs and related products Performs peri-care in a manner consistent with standards of infection control and hygiene. Prepares patient for meals, assists in setting up and feeding patients, serves fresh water and nourishments when indicated. Lift, transfer, and transport patients in wheelchair, bed or gurney as directed using proper technique Assists with patient positioning and repositioning (turn and positioning program) Obtain and record patients temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, urine testing, weight, intake/output as directed by the charge nurse and/or care plan. Maintains confidentiality of patient information and data when reporting to the nurse. Responsible for routine bed making and linen changes Application of support devices, adaptive equipment, & oxygen. Post mortem care as directed Demonstrates sensitivity to patients to ensure their comfort, privacy and well-being. Participates in laundering personal patient clothing as directed Other duties as assigned by the nurse.
