As a Hospice Clinical Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in stepping in to fill critical nurse vacancies, leading teams, and providing hands-on mentorship to nursing staff. This position offers a blend of leadership, training, and direct patient care, ensuring the highest quality service is provided at every level.Responsibilities:
  • Travel to various hospice locations to fill in for short- and long-term nurse vacancies, ensuring continuity of care and smooth transitions between teams.
  • Act as Interim Clinical Director when necessary, overseeing clinical operations and ensuring compliance with the highest standards of care.
  • Provide hands-on, on-the-job training to new and existing staff, focusing on key areas like pain management, symptom control, and emotional support techniques.
  • Offer clinical guidance to nursing staff, ensuring the best possible care for patients and families.
  • Work alongside interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans, monitor progress, and adjust as needed.
  • Provide resources, training, and continuous learning opportunities to staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Quickly adapt to new environments and patient needs, ensuring consistent and compassionate care during nurse vacancies.
  • Frequent travel, sometimes up to 75% of the time, across our service area and possibly out of state.
RequirementsQualifications and licensure:
  • 2-5 years of nursing experience in hospice or palliative care, with previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a multi-state nursing license that's in good standing.
  • CPR for Healthcare Professionals certification, a valid driver's license, and current automobile insurance are required.
  • Must live in KS, MO, or CO to be considered for this role.
