Hospital Director JOB SUMMARY Arista Advanced Pet Care is a new company building de novo Veterinary Specialty & Emergency hospitals with a shared ownership model. As a sister company to CityVet and part of the Affinity Veterinary Partners group, Arista is redefining advanced veterinary care. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and energetic person to be part of building a new business with the support of an established home office and talented team. The Arista Hospital Director will be responsible for management of the facility in its entirety, including business management, financial success and overall clinical operations management for the de novo veterinary specialty and 24/7 emergency hospital. This role focuses on client experience, staff management, operational excellence, strategic growth, and high-quality care which includes integrating with local general practice and urgent hospitals through the successful execution of the care navigation function. Working closely with specialty and emergency veterinarians, who are partners in the business, , the Arista Hospital Director will be an integral part of the overall success of the hospital. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES - Oversee and support the de novo launch and operations of Arista Advanced Pet Care veterinary specialty & emergency hospital - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the specialty and emergency veterinary hospital, ensuring a seamless and efficient workflow - Drive long-term strategic planning, including service line expansions, operational improvements, and client experience initiatives. - Collaborate with hospital partner/owners to set and meet performance goals related to patient care, financial outcomes, and team development. - Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices - Develop and monitor plans to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) including financial metrics, client satisfaction and staff productivity. Implement strategies to enhance revenue and control costs through efficient inventory management and team scheduling - Ensure successful execution and partnership with the Care Navigation function, continually educating clients and coaching team members so it becomes part of hospital culture - Foster a culture of collaboration, personal growth, and excellence - leading by example by facilitating communication and coordination within the hospital, and with Arista Leadership - Facilitate the recruitment, training, and retention of high-quality veterinary staff and professionals within the hospital - Lead, mentor, and inspire hospital teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement - Build and maintain strong relationships with specialty and emergency veterinarians who are partners in the business - Collaborate with partners to identify and implement improvements in clinical and operational practices and guide the success of the Hospital Operating Committee - Support partners in achieving their professional and financial goals - Support the development and execution of marketing strategies to promote the hospital and their services - Engage with the veterinary community and participate in industry events to enhance the hospital's reputation and visibility - Foster relationships with referring veterinarians including general practitioners and urgent care providers as well as other community stakeholders - Foster a culture of feedback and continuous improvement of the care navigation function by measuring patient outcomes and client happiness - Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making, improve operational performance, and improve measurable value-based health outcomes - Foster a culture of active listening by consistently incorporating feedback from quarterly happiness surveys to drive continuous improvement initiatives Skills & Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS - Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field (CVPM, CVBL or equivalent experience preferred) - Minimum of 5 years of experience in veterinary hospital operations or a related healthcare field - Proven experience in a leadership role, managing multiple locations or departments - Strong understanding of veterinary medicine, specialty, and emergency care - Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills - Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial performance, and operational metrics - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Proficient in using practice management software and other relevant technology - Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make data-driven decisions - Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and client service Qualifications Haven't found your role?
